OUR STORY
We started Wolfram Studios to reclaim floorboards from buildings that would otherwise go to waste and transform them into lasting pieces of furniture. In a much more poetic wording: to transform, with our own hands, something discarded into something beautiful.
Wolfram Studios is a company that specializes in producing handcrafted furniture and custom woodwork pieces. The company was cofounded by Ben Swanson and Garret Nasset in 2016 after the pair worked together refinishing hardwood floors. The beauty and character of century old oak and maple floorboards, which they worked on daily, inspired them to use it as a medium for making fine furniture.
THE TEAM
BENJAMIN SWANSON
Never interested in restricting himself to a single discipline, Ben spent his college years earning an American Chemical Society approved B.S. in Chemistry while interning at a community bicycle repair shop. After a post-graduation trans-continental bicycle tour, he dove headfirst into woodworking—restoring pre-WWII hardwood floors during the day, and building furniture with his coworker-turned-best-bud Garret on nights and weekends. Drawing influence from multiple sources has proven invaluable for their furniture business, and Ben is excited to bring their collaborations to the public. |
GARRET NASSET
Garret Nasset was born in Minnesota in 1993. He is a multimedia sculptor who is currently living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nasset spent two years attending the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul studying Fine Arts 2011-2013. After the closure of this institution, he chose to continue his education at the Paris College of Art to complete his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015. Since returning to work in Minnesota it can be seen that his time spent in Paris, among creatives in art schools, and working on historic homes all bear influence on his designs, marrying both old and new elements together into one piece. |
